Our first KiwiTalk trip this year is to visit the gannet colony at Muriwai Beach. Come and see the gannets nesting on the flat rocks above the Tasman Sea. There are about 1200 breeding pairs. It's quite a sight!

Bring a picnic lunch to share afterwards. Also bring good walking shoes, hat and sunscreen.

Park at the main carpark at Muriwai Beach. We will walk up to see the gannets once everyone has arrived. (about 25-minute walk) then return for our picnic.

Meet at 25 Union Street at 10am.
Meet at Muriwai Beach carpark from 10:45am.
Gannet colony return walk and observation: approximately 11am to 12:30pm.
Picnic lunch near carpark: from 12:30pm
