Lake Wainamu Visit - Fresh Water Swim - Big Sand Dunes & Easy Walk Waitangi Day

If you’d like to cool down in a fresh water lake on Waitangi Day...dip your toes in or go full body wet...today's adventure walk is perfect...which combines flat beach like walking together today and gentle exercise..plus lots of fun recreational connections..and swimming opportunities for anyone interested..while others can relax under trees here and chat ..bring along a towel to sit on the sand.

Plus...before we get to Lake Wainamu...there's huge sand dunes here today to climb up or slide down ...as many people come here..today is your opportunity..do it ..

No Dogs. No Children under 18..Adult Guests Welcome today. Please explain everything.

Lake Wainamu, 3km from the Tasman Sea, is well known amongst Aucklanders...and is also still a mystery destination for others...Popular for its surfing...called dune surfing ...on the impressive black sand dunes that have built up over thousands of years...these are fun recreational outdoor activities for everyone's pleasure..or just come to photograph....and socialize..make new friends ..reconnect with others..

Today's walk is mostly suited for people wanting to slow down and look around and take in the peaceful surroundings and relax.

At a Glance -

WHAT- Auckland Social Events
Waitangi Day Guided Walk with Stephen.

WHERE MEETING- Bethells Beach Carpark- End of Bethells Road . Waitakere Ranges.

Meet and Greet Time is 10.30am.

We will aim to be finished by 3pm.

Track Length- About 6km.

Walking Time - About Three Hours with extra time for long lunch and sand dunes.

Walk Difficulty - Easy Day. Mostly flat ground and optional high sand dunes to climb up or just watch others.

Highlights- Inland Sand Dunes. Fresh water lake. Swimming opportunities. Bring along Togs and Towel. Sun Protection. Lots of Extra Water .

Bring along everything you need to keep yourself happy outdoors today..Wearing sun protection is important .
Carry everything you need to eat, drink etc in a small backpack..

Wear strong walking shoes or mountain sandals..Hiking poles optional. Sun Protection today is important.

CARPOOLING METHOD-

Add your Mobile number and Area where you live when you RSVP if you need a ride or have space for another member in your Car.
I suggest you give your Driver at least $20 Cash on the day.

Drivers interested in carrying other passengers please make your you have a clear recognizable portrait photo of yourself for everyone's safety.
