I am a Chartered Professional Engineer based on Auckland's North Shore specializing in the structural design of buildings.
I'm planning to continue my series of online seminars to Structural Engineers. Previous seminars included:

They were originally aimed at recent graduates, but senior engineers would be welcome to participate and contribute.

"Geotechnical Design of Pad Foundations to NZ B1/VM2"This time we look at the design of Concrete Pad Foundations
The procedure follows NZ Building Code Verification Method B1/VM2 Geotechnical Design of Foundations, 2025. We'll look at the latest version of B1/VM2 and comparing it with the previous edition B1/VM4), then go through 2 examples step by step.
This will be another seminar asking WTF does this spreadsheet do with the answer given using Mathcad.
I'll record my presentation for upload to my YouTube channel, which will last around 25-30mins. (Please switch off your camera and microphone).
The presentation will be followed by a discussion and a general Q&A. (This part will not be recoded so cameras and microphones can be switched back on.)
