About us
The Audible Artisan Book Club
A year of listening and creating.
The Audible Artisan Club is a quarterly book club for those who love stories—and love creating with their hands while listening.
Throughout the year, we will listen to four audiobooks (one per quarter), all modern retellings of Greek mythology told through the voices of women history tried to silence. As we listen, we’ll create with our hands alongside the story, working on a personal craft or creative project of our choosing—knitting, painting, writing, baking, sculpting, stitching, woodworking, or anything that feels right to you.
This year’s books include:
• The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker
• Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati
• The Witch of Colchis by Rosie Hewlett
• Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes
Each quarter concludes with an in-person gathering where we’ll discuss the book and bring what we created with our hands while listening—not as a showcase of perfection, but as a reflection of how the story moved us. Every piece tells its own story, shaped by voice, emotion, and time spent creating.
Theme for the Year: Reclaiming Her Voice
These novels explore power, resilience, rage, transformation, and legacy—asking who gets to tell the story, and what happens when women reclaim their narratives. Listening and creating at the same time allows us to process these stories in a deeper, more embodied way.
Whether you’re an experienced maker or simply looking for a thoughtful, creative community, you’re welcome here.
Come listen. Create with your hands as the story unfolds. Gather to reflect, share, and connect.
