What we’re about
Austin Acts of Kindness exists to help the local community... We show kindness by volunteering at charitable events, and also by educating the public, gathering resources, and raising funds.
There are plenty of groups to volunteer with... Why choose us?
• We work for a wide variety of causes - education, mental health, hunger, homelessness, the environment, and many more.
• We are independent - not associated with a specific company, religion, age, or marital status. If you leave your company, have a milestone birthday, or change your relationship, you are welcome with us.
Typically AAK partners with an established organization, and we provide staffing and community support for a specific event... Characteristics of our volunteer events:
• Benefits the public or a non-profit organization which helps the general community.
• One time events... There is not an ongoing commitment, although we often like to return.
• No special skills, training, tools, extensive orientation or background check is needed... On-line registration with the sponsoring organization and brief task-oriented training is typical.
• Can use a flexible number of volunteers... AAK cannot guarantee a specific turnout - unfortunately volunteers recruited via social media can be flaky. Don't be that person - Please honor your RSVP.
Check out our Calendar. We hope to meet you at an upcoming event!

### Are you busy... but not happy?
In today’s fast-paced world, many of us are constantly rushing - juggling endless to-do lists, battling burnout and struggling to find space for joy. At this special event from Action for Happiness, Professor Cassie Holmes will reveal how we can reclaim control of our time and rediscover what truly makes us feel alive.
Drawing on cutting-edge research and personal stories, Cassie will share practical strategies to help you stop feeling time-poor and start living more intentionally. You’ll learn why more activity doesn’t always mean more fulfilment - and how making small shifts in how you spend your hours can lead to a happier life.
Whether you’re overwhelmed by busyness or simply want to use your time more wisely, this event offers insights and inspiring ideas to help you feel more present, purposeful and content.
