What we’re about
Adult support group for neurodivergent people, and all types of neurodivergence are welcome. Neurodivergence is having a neurological (brain) or mental variation than what is typical. Examples include FAE, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, and learning disabilities.
Our group includes adults through elder members. During our Topic Discussions, we discuss common neurodivergent challenges, work-arounds, successes, coping strategies, and other topics of common interest. Individual Share time is a time to share any recent neurodivergent-related challenges or triumphs that you wish to share. You can also share anything you feel is appropriate to share. All parts of our meetings are optional!
We meet every Tuesday evening at 7 PM Central Time and end around 9:00 PM Central Time. From 7pm to 7:10pm is an optional social time while members arrive.
Our group is democratically and member-run, we have members that choose to be facilitators that help keep us on track.

In order to make this a safe place, we treat each other with dignity and respect. This is meant to be a safe, judgment-free place where everyone can be themselves. Additionally, we are flexible and are understanding if someone needs to leave early or arrives late. In order to promote a safe environment for sharing, recording a meeting is against AANSG rules.
During our Topic Discussion, please refrain from interrupting a member that is talking, and use the raise your hand feature. Instead of telling someone what to do, we ask that you frame it into what has helped you.
During Individual Share Time, please continue to mute your microphone when not sharing, to show support by listening.
If you want to register to join the group, there are some questions to answer. They help us learn about you and keep fake accounts out. The responses are only viewable by our approved members. If you do not want your responses to be viewed by other members, you may send a private message through Meetup to either Eric or Larissa with answers to the questions and we will handle your registration.
