About us

80% of professionals fail to turn networking contacts into real business relationships. Not because they're doing it wrong. Because the format is broken.

The emPower Breakfast has been doing it differently since 2001.

The emPower Breakfast is Austin's Relationship-First Business Community: the monthly gathering for professionals who are done with transactional networking and ready to learn, connect, and belong.

Excited to share a fantastic new relationship-first business community tailored just for local business owners and professionals like you!

emPower Breakfast is not a networking event. It's a community. There are no category restrictions, no referral quotas, no infomercials, no 30-second pitches. There is a real breakfast, a speaker who teaches something worth knowing, and a room of people who show up every month because the relationships they're building here are real.

I'm Christy Seguin, the new Area Director launching the Austin chapter of the Austin EmPower Breakfast: a welcoming, proven monthly event where entrepreneurs connect, grow, and build real relationships over a delicious breakfast.

What we are not: A networking group. A BNI replacement. A chamber substitute. A mixer. A pitch event.

In 2001, the US Small Business Administration partnered with the Omaha Nebraska Chamber of Commerce to begin the Omaha EmPower Breakfast. It was formed to provide local businesses with insightful speakers and a non-commercial meeting in order to build relationships and community. It was created for local entrepreneurs who are tired of transactional networking and looking for real support and connection. It's now expanding nationwide!

Why it's perfect for you:
--No category restrictions  Open to every industry; anyone can attend and create new relationships. No one is your competitor here. The accountant sits next to the other accountant. The two real estate agents compare notes. The freedom to be open — rather than territorial — creates the conditions for real trust.
--No membership costs, contracts, or obligations Just purchase a breakfast ticket and join us! You don't have to speak or perform. No referral requirements, no huge time commitment.
--You come to give before you come to get. Every session has an educational speaker whose job is to teach, not sell. The community is designed for contribution first — your expertise, your attention, your connections — and the business results follow organically.
--Credibility is built in, not earned from scratch. The SBA backing and Omaha Chamber of Commerce foundation give the community institutional credibility that a pop-up group never has. You're not joining an experiment. You're joining something with infrastructure.
--Elevated Tex-Mex breakfast in a beautiful setting at Vaqueros Cafe & Cantina. The table is the point. Breaking bread together — a real Tex-Mex buffet, not "networking eggs" — is not an afterthought. The shared meal is where the real conversations happen. People trust each other more when they've eaten together. This is ancient human technology that the research on loneliness consistently validates.
--You come to give before you come to get. Every session has an educational speaker whose job is to teach, not sell. The community is designed for contribution first — your expertise, your attention, your connections — and the business results follow organically.
