We will be gathering in Antone on the 16th floor of Capital Factory, a startup incubator and coworking hub. Located at 701 Brazos St, the venue shares a building with Omni Austin Hotel. Free and paid parking options are available around the block, along with $8 validated parking in the underground garage.

🔥 Groove Mechanics: Kick & Bass for House Producers

Ready to break through writer's block and unlock your creativity?

In this workshop, we will move from rigid patterns to dynamic swing while exploring the essentials of kick and bass for house production. Attendees will learn how to select drums with intention, shape sounds in audio files, use velocity in MIDI, and apply swing to bring grooves to life.

We will also dive into techniques for using EQ and envelopes to layer drums, shape and sidechain bass, and balance mix levels across kick, claps, hats, and bass. Finally, the session will guide you through expanding a drum and bass loop into a full song structure.

🚀 Speaker: DONPAIRION

DONPAIRION is a melodic and tech house producer with six years of experience crafting immersive grooves and mentoring emerging artists. He discovered his passion for house and techno while immersed in the vibrant EDM scenes of Austin and Los Angeles, where the energy of the dance floor sparked a deep dive into DJing, production, and creative direction. The DONPAIRION moniker emerged in the early 2020s, and his 2021 move to LA accelerated his study of the EDM ecosystem, from mix engineering to artist branding. Now back in Texas, he leads PH7 Records and the Finding Balance in EDM podcast, guiding workshops and showcases that prioritize music, community, and creative sustainability.
