Next to solving real-world problems, generating money is probably the most important, and one of the primary goals of most startups. Even non-profits need money to stay in business and serve their primary, more nobler causes. However, generating revenue is tough, and lack of revenue, or not enough revenue growth, is one of the most common reasons startups fail. Having a good business and revenue model will go a long way in mitigating these risks and build a strong base for growth.

In this session, we have a wonderful guest, Chris Palmisano, to help us understand how to evaluate and build good business/revenue models, and answer your burning questions.

Chris Palmisano is the CEO of iamGIS, a company providing the public and private sectors with geo-asset management and mapping solutions. Prior, he was Founding Chief Operating Officer at Rocket Dollar, a financial technology company. Previously, he held leadership roles in sales, marketing, and operations at several companies including Khorus (HR tech), SolarWinds (Enterprise IT), and Google Cloud. He is also a frequent guest lecturer, Founding Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners, and an advisor to several companies, nonprofits, and academic programs. He is a Founding Board Member for Social Venture Partners Austin and has been an adjunct professor at St. Edward's University. Chris is a former US Marine Corps officer. He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, an MS in Information Systems from Boston University, and a BS in Information Systems from Rochester Institute of Technology. He lives in Austin, Texas.
