What we’re about
This is a social group for women ONLY, who are 50+ and looking to make new friends and generally have a good time! Most of our events involve walking in local parks or neighborhoods. Whether you are single, married, divorced, or widowed, you are welcome to join us. Our group is diverse, from many different backgrounds, experiences, and life journeys.
We all have different schedules and interests, so active members can become Event Hosts and schedule events. We simply ask that you don't use the group to sell products or services.
Come meet new friends and enjoy the company of other women in the same age group.
A Note to Vendors of Services, Supplies & Goods: We appreciate your offer to promote your goods and/or services to our group. We are purely a social group, though, and have decided to not promote any individual or group services. Thanks for your interest but we kindly request that you refrain from contacting us regarding such a request.
DISCLAIMER: PARTICIPATION IN THIS MEETUP GROUP ("THE GROUP") IS ENTIRELY VOLUNTARY. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO DETERMINE YOUR PARTICIPATION LEVEL WITHOUT ADVERTENTLY OR INADVERTENTLY CAUSING INJURY TO YOURSELF OR OTHERS. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO OBSERVE APPROPRIATE SAFETY MEASURES DURING ANY AND ALL ACTIVITIES CONCERNING THE GROUP. Storytelling Workshop
On Wednesday, September 18th, from Noon to 2PM There are many ways to tell a story. You will learn one way to connect—a tool to persuade, interest, amuse, and influence. You connect with your inner self and listeners when you share a story. It’s a gift that makes us all stronger. I’ve been developing this workshop since StorySistas began in 2016, recently with significant improvements that make practical storytelling stress-free and easy. The workshop is designed for you to tell a story on the fly in 5 easy steps, in less than 2 hours, guaranteed! More on the workshop below.
After Menopause
In May 2025, Ground Floor Theater Austin will hold a month-long visual and performing arts exhibit on menopause. I asked if they would be interested in a short skit titled "After Menopause." After all, menopause is overrated; life starts after menopause. They said yes! …
… HELP! Please send me your thoughts. What is after menopause? Physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally, what have you experienced? LOVE to hear from you! And, unless you’d like to be acknowledged, what you share will be anonymous. Email your thoughts and experiences to mahani@storysistas.com, or call/text 512 800 2541. Let’s define life after menopause.Happy Summer!
Wishing you and yours a happy rest of summer!
