Violet Crown Hike from SPEC'S

The Violet Crown Trail will eventually extend 30 miles from Zilker Park to Hays Co., but for now extends 13 miles. This stretch of the VC trail begins off Hwy. 290 near Brodie Lane. It descends down to Barton Creek on a rocky trail through the woods, with some steep parts, and then winds along the creek. Its shady and pretty. Let's meet in the SPEC's parking lot near Hwy 290 and we'll walk to the nearby trailhead. We'll walk for about 1.5 hours.
