Hike Barton Creek Trail from Spyglass Trailhead to Zilker Park Trailhead

We're going to start at the Spyglass Trailhead and walk this rocky path to the new Zilker Park Violet Crown Trailhead. It's about 2.5 miles round trip and we'll take about an hour to an hour and a half. The trail is mostly flat and shaded as it goes along the creek. The Violet Crown Trail group has recently installed a new entrance to the trail at Zilker, and there are restrooms. Wear good shoes for walking and bring water. And please consider if you are in shape for this activity out of consideration for yourself and others. Trailhead address is 1601 Spyglass Drive.

Directions: From Mopac, either north or south, exit on Barton Skyway and follow Barton Skyway east. The Spyglass trail head is located at the intersection of Barton Skyway and Spyglass Dr. (Spyglass Dr. is a semi circle, so if you miss the first turn, just take the next one.) There is ample street parking in the area. There is also a rest room in the Tacodeli across from the trailhead.
