Walk and visit historic homes during the Hyde Park Homes Tour

We love to walk in this shady historic neighborhood. The annual Hyde Park Homes Tour gives us a chance to learn about the history of the neighborhood and tour inside some of the homes that make Hyde Park unique. This year's tour includes seven historic homes and is called Preservation and Progress.

You can get more information and buy an advance ticket for $20 at https://www.austinhydepark.org/homestour. Or you can pay $25 and get a ticket at the Elisabet Ney Museum (304 E. 44th St.) where the tour begins, on the day of the tour.

We will walk a mile or two through the neighborhood to visit 4 homes, so it will take about two hours, depending on how crowded it is. We may also walk or take the free bus to three of the homes that are a little farther away. Wear good shoes for walking and bring water. And please consider if you are in shape for this activity out of consideration for yourself and others.
