Fiddles, Faith & Frontier Communities — Talk & Live Fiddle · Salado Museum

A special afternoon at the Salado Museum combining live Scottish fiddle with the history of the frontier communities that shaped Central Texas.
Colin MacLeod joins historian Kurt Terry to explore how Scottish, Scotch-Irish, and broader frontier settlers carried their music, faith, and traditions westward from Salado into New Mexico — with Colin’s live fiddle woven throughout the presentation. Hymn tunes, Scottish airs, dance tunes, and communal music all played a role in sustaining identity and community across vast frontier distances.
