About us
This is a group made up of Australian Shepherd owners (and their dogs) from the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia (DMV) area. We are interested in Australian Shepherds and their activities. Let's get our Aussies together for play dates, hikes, swims, agility, walks and runs and some sheep herding! Let's also support Aussie rescue activities. We have a Facebook page Australian Shepherds of the DMV. Upon joining this group you assume all liability for you and your dog. If a dog is deemed dangerous by members or the organizers, you will be blocked from the group. If an owner is deemed irresponsible by members or the organizers, you will be blocked from the group.
Under no circumstances should dogs in heat be brought to meetup events, members that do will be removed from the group.
Do not post for breeding or to sell puppies/dogs. Members that do, will be removed from the group.
Members that consistently rsvp and change their rsvps at the last minute or are no shows to events with limited availability and impact the finances of our hosts will be removed from the group.

Easy On Leash Hike Blandy Experimental Farm followed by optional cidery
State Arboretum of Virginia, 400 Blandy Farm Ln, Boyce, VA, USHi everyone! This hike can be done alone or as an add on to the Cobbler Mountain Cider event at noon. Let's meet at the State Arboretum of Virginia/Blandy Experimental Farm and do a walk. We will go for 90min. More info on the Arboretum can be found here: https://blandy.virginia.edu
Time: Please arrive early so we can start the walk promptly at 10am. We will walk for about 90min, and then head over to Cobbler Mountain Cidery (30min drive)
