UNHOSTED - Let's go Paddle Boarding with our Aussies in Occoquan, VA!

If you have always wanted to try to Kayak or SUP with your dog come join in! We can paddle along the waterfront of historic Occoquan. After paddling there are many restaurants and cafes where you can grab something to eat and relax before driving home.

When: Sunday June 15th at 9:30am - we will paddle for 1-2hrs.

For those with their own equipment there is a free launch under the Ox Rd/123 bridge just past the rental place. Please get there early enough so you're ready to start at 9:30.

For renters: I recommend meeting near the rental place, but waiting to get into the queue until 9:30. That way we can start on the water around the same time and no one is using up their rental time waiting for other paddlers.

Things to bring: life vest for your dog (the handle is fantastic for getting them back on board), Water for you and your dog, Sunscreen/protective clothing, Footwear (if your dog falls and swims to shore you may have to go after him/her), dry bag for your phone/keys/snack/etc.. If it's really hot I personally like to stick a coconut water in the freezer the day before, then bring it along and let it thaw in the sun on my board.

What to expect: You and your dog will probably fall in! Especially if it’s your first time. It's actually quite refreshing on a hot day. I'm happy to help with some paddling tips for newbies.

Weather: Will cancel if chance of storms or heavy rain.
