Find out more information here. https://www.montgomeryparks.org/parks-and-trails/black-hill-regional-park/black-hill-boats-little-seneca-lake/
Boat owners: Start around 9:45 - For those with their own equipment there is a public boat ramp you can use. It's probably a 15min paddle from there to the rental area. I'll plan to leave the public boat ramp around 9:45 so we can take our time paddling out.
Directions: The directions are to the Black Hill boat rental location. If you are going to the public boat ramp, keep your eyes open for signs once you enter the park. There will be a place where you will turn right for the boat ramp, but keep going straight for rentals (and bathrooms).
*BE AWARE GPS MAY TRY TO TAKE YOU THE WRONG WAY IF YOU PUT IN THE BOAT RAMP Last time I had google take me to the boat ramp and it tried taking me down a closed street. You need to enter through the main entrance off from Old Baltimore Road. Then follow the signs.
Description: If you have always wanted to try SUP or kayak with your dog come join in! We can paddle along the serene waters of Little Seneca Lake in Germantown MD.
I have a paddle board and love taking my guy out. If you haven't tried it before, here's a great blog (obviously you'll have to skip the at home steps if you don't have your own board) http://www.isupworld.com/sup-with-your-dog/.
There is a dog exercise area (I haven't used it before) and lots of hiking trails if you'd like to come early and get out some energy.
Things to bring: life vest for your dog (the handle is fantastic for getting them back on board), Water for you and your dog, Sunscreen/protective clothing, Footwear (if your dog falls and swims to shore you may have to go after him/her), dry bag for your phone/keys/snack/etc..
What to expect: You and your dog may fall in! Especially if it’s your first time. I'm happy to help with some paddling tips for newbies.
Weather: Will cancel if chance of storms or heavy rain.
