We are all about fun, community and great Cuban music and energy. Authentic, traditionally trained professional dancer, Yusell Garcia and wife, Cheri Shanti, author of the books "The Breath of Cuba" bring the spirit and family love of Cuba to Martin and St Lucie Counties with their classes and social events. We are a global family of friends from all over the world who all love and appreciate dance, community and friendship. We offer classes, cultural events, parties, entertainment for senior centers and more. Join us and catch the fire.
CLASS INFO:
Level 1 for Beginners: BEGINNING JANUARY 8, 2024: PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR Pt. St. Lucie: Mondays at 6:30 pm at Cielo Lounge in Port St Lucie
Tuesdays: Class and Social Dancing at LUSH Lounge:
Level 1: 7:30 PM at LUSH LOUNGE in Stuart, FL.
Rueda Figures: 8:30 PM for Levels 2 and above.
Sunday mornings at Frazier Creek Brewery Workshop and class at 10 am and a tri county social every mid month Saturday (around 15th), see our events for more info on those.
Learn to dance Cuban style from a professional dancer from Cuba, the real deal authentic Cuban salsa! Yusell is a professional dancer from Camagüey, Cuba who performed nationally with all styles of Cuban Dance, he is a walking encylopedia of Cuban dance.
Yusell worked as a professional dancer and instructor in Cuba for over 25 years, and we are so blessed to have him to share Cuban dance forms direct from the culture. He worked in Cuba with his own private school in between his performance work for over 15 years teaching tourists and groups who came just to work with him for his excellence in his training and education as a professional. Cheri and Yusell met in Trinidad, Cuba and are now married and working together to bring the spirit and passion of Cuban dance here!
In Level 1 you will learn the basics of Cuban Salsa, or "Casino."
Levels 2 and beyond will build on these foundations with more combinations, musicality, style, the magical world of Rueda de Casino and lots of new Cuban flavors including but not limited to Rumba, Folkloric flavors, and little sweet extra special sauces.
Our courses are designed for anyone who wants to learn to dance socially to gain the skills and knowledge you'll need to feel confident dancing socially.
We encourage everyone to come weekly and jump in for the entire course to get the most benefits. We offer punch cards for 6-10 classes.
