Authentic Relating and Nonviolence
Details
Hello and welcome to this special Authentic Relating themed around Nonviolence. With MLK Day around the corner, we'll invite you to slow down, listen to the beating heart beneath conflict, and practice compassionately holding space for what is without judgement. We believe that you’ll walk away with a feeling of greater compassion, and of the humanity that connects us all.
WHEN?
Saturday January 17th - 10:30am - 12:30pm
WHERE?
Denver Public Library Ford-Warren (2825 High St)
Community Room #2
AUTHENTIC RELATING GAMES
Authentic Relating (AR) is the practice of being with what is, together. Through various games we tap in to our own truth and practice revealing it to others, while holding space for other's truth. Games are designed to be connecting and fun! By the end, participants often feel more hopeful and often walk away with a new friend or two :)
All instructions and prompts will be provided; no experience necessary. This workshop is perfect for those new to AR as well as the well-seasoned.
This event is for adults and young-adults only. If you are needing to bring a service animal, please reach out beforehand.
What to bring?
This session of AR will be held in the private community room of a library. Bring a jacket, water bottle, or anything you may need to be comfortable.

ABOUT THE HOSTS
Mauro "Mo" Perez has been studying and practicing Nonviolent Communication (NVC) since 2017. He teaches NVC classes, leads practice groups, and volunteers with RMCCN, the NVC nonprofit of Colorado. When Mo isn't teaching or leading groups you can find him rock climbing, attending plays, or watching movies at local movie houses.
Clayton Dunn is a life coach who helps people overcome depression and build emotional safety, purpose, and alignment. His work centers on emotional awareness, values, boundaries, and authentic connection, supporting people in creating lives that feel meaningful and genuinely their own. When Clay isn’t coaching or facilitating, he enjoys driving his Miata, watching movies and shows with friends, and playing video games with his wife.
Guy Ganani has practiced Authentic Relating since 2021 and facilitated since 2023 at Google. He's volunteered as peer support at Burning Man, and as a regional Ranger offering conflict de-escalation and mediation. He can usually be found teaching skiing or snuggling his two cats.
