About us

Welcome to Authentic Relating Denver. Here, we gather with each other to build genuine in-person connections and explore our relational fields.

What is authentic relating? It is a way to explore the vast landscape of human connection that lies beyond the scope of most human connections. It is a practice that settles the reactive nervous system and allows people to be deeply seen, heard, and accepted for who they are.

During our meetups, we welcome ourselves and each other just as we are. We practice authentic relating skills and exercises to dive deeper into awareness, connection and understanding. Our ultimate goal is to bring more vulnerability, intimacy, nourishment and trust into our relationships and into the present moment.

In this community, everyone is welcomed. Regardless of your age, race, identities, or experience with the authentic relating practice, you are a valuable part of this group. We look forward to relating with you at the next event!

Lastly, if you are interested in continuing your authentic relating practice, we are here to enable you. Feel free to reach out at the end of an event to learn more about Authentic Relating Training (ART International), or to join our leadership team which leads and facilitates sessions.

    AUTHENTIC RELATING GAMES
Authentic Relating is the practice of being with what is, together. We strive to connect to our inner truth and reveal it to others, while also holding space for other's truth in the process.

Authentic Relating Games are facilitated activities and exercises we participate in together to drop into the space of connection and practice our relating skills. Not only are the games connecting, but they are fun! By the end, you will feel more empowered by relationships, and you may even make a new friend!

Authentic Re-Dating: An Authentic Relating Valentines Event

Hadley Branch Library, 1890 S.Grove St., Denver, CO, US

Are you curious about dating that feels more human, grounded, and real, rather than performative, pressured, or transactional?

Join us for Authentic Re-dating, a Valentine’s-themed Authentic Relating event where we explore connection, attraction, and presence through conscious communication and honest relating. This is not a traditional speed dating or singles mixer, it’s an invitation to practice how we relate, while naturally meeting new people along the way.

Regardless of your relationship identity, or if you are questioning, curious, or simply wanting to explore connection more authentically, you’re welcome here.

    WHEN?
    Saturday February 14, 10:30am-12:30pm

WHERE? Hadley Branch Library - Community Room
    1890 S Grove St, Denver, CO 80219

    ## What is Authentic Re-dating?

Authentic Re-dating blends the principles of Authentic Relating with light, structured opportunities to meet and connect with others one-on-one and in small groups.

Rather than trying to “optimize” for chemistry or filter for your type, the intention is to meet each person as they are, notice what comes up in yourself, and practice honesty, boundaries, curiosity.

You will meet everyone (or nearly everyone) in the room through short, timed interactions. Some connections may feel resonant, some neutral, some awkward, and all of it is welcome! You will meet people who aren’t your type, and that’s a normal and human experience.

    ## The Practices We’ll Be Exploring

Authentic Relating is grounded in five core practices:

    • Welcoming everything
    • Checking our assumptions
    • Revealing our experience
    • Owning our experience
    • Honoring ourselves and others

These practices will be lightly facilitated and woven into the experience through prompts, reflections, and group framing — with plenty of space for organic connection.

    ## Format & Flow (Approximate)

    • 10:20 – Arrive early (we start promptly)
    • 10:30 – Welcome & container setting
    • 10:45 – Structured Connection Begins
(rotating 1:1 interactions with gentle prompts)
    • 12:15 – Group closing & reflections
    • 12:30 – Open mingling & integration, exchange contact info, or make a new friend 💛

We will explicitly name when it’s appropriate to continue conversations, ask for contact info, or simply say goodbye - removing guesswork and supporting consent-based connection.

Sharing contact information is always optional, never assumed, and encouraged only when mutual and aligned.

    ## Name Tags & Orientation

To support clarity and reduce awkwardness, name tags may include optional identifiers such as:

    • Pronouns
    • Relationship orientation (e.g., monogamous, poly, open, unsure, etc.)
    • Sexual Attraction (e.g. male, female, mix, androgynous, etc.)
    • What you’re open to (e.g., dating, friendship, connection, etc.)

There will be no sorting or matching based on these markers — they are simply there to support transparency and ease.

    ## Important Notes

    • This event is adults only (18+)
    • You do not need dating experience, or even a desire to “date”, to attend.
    • This is a practice space, not a performance space.
    • Please come with curiosity, self-responsibility, and kindness toward yourself and others.

There is no right way to do this. Awkwardness, nervousness, attraction, disinterest, excitement - all are part of the practice.

    ## The Result?

    • More confidence and clarity in how you relate
    • Deeper self-awareness around attraction and boundaries
    • Meaningful, grounded connections - romantic or otherwise
    • A gentler, more honest experience of Valentine’s season

    ## GUIDANCE

    • Chairs will be provided. Temperature control is unknown - layers recommended.
    • This event is for adults and young adults only.
    • If you require a service animal, please reach out beforehand.

    ## COST

    $10 recommended donation
This helps cover space and facilitation costs. Donate before or after the event.
    Venmo: @dschreibero (#0110)

    ## CANCELLATIONS

Please keep your RSVP up to date. If you can no longer attend, change your RSVP to “not going” so someone else can join. This helps us keep the container respectful and accessible.
