Are you ready to participate in and explore the practice of authentic relating, all the while making new friends in the process? If so, please join us for our first official Authentic Relating circling session, hosted by David Schreiber and Moses Smith.

WHEN?
Saturday February 7, 10:30am-12:30pm

WHERE? Hadley Branch Library - Community Room
1890 S Grove St, Denver, CO 80219

What is Circling?

In Authentic Relating, there are 5 practices that we focus on to relate with others. They are:

  • Welcoming everything
  • Checking our assumptions
  • Revealing our experiences
  • Owning our experiences
  • Honoring ourselves and others

Circling is a fluid and loosely formatted way to explore these practices with little to no direct facilitation or activities. The facilitators are primarily present to set the container. We will introduce the group, conduct a short meditation, and set the container group sizes and time constraints. Then we will turn it over to the group to flow with each other by expressing your current feelings and what you notice - within yourself - to the group. Some shares may catalyze noticings or feelings within others to come up, at which point other members within the group will continue to reveal and share like this naturally, until the time is up. Afterwards we will debrief and start additional rounds in different group sizes. The focus is on the present moment- being present with your emotions, and finding courage to both reveal and hold space for your own and others.

This is an intermediate practice of authentic relating, however AR Denver is here to hold space for anyone to explore. We encourage new-comers to try this activity as well, as this is a great place to practice and learn. **There is no wrong or right way to circle- and it is important that everyone shows up in a non-judgemental way of others, and holds no prior expectations. *We will push the boundaries of our comfort zone, reveal our inner experiences, but in a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental way. ***

This is a practice zone. Please hold grace for every person, including the facilitators, to be who they are and to show up in whatever experience and way they express, even if it is not how you think "circling" should go.

The result?
— Expanded relational and present moment awareness
— Deeper, more meaningful and intimate connections with self and others
— The potential to begin shifting lifelong relational patterns and blocks
