We often hear how difficult it can be to make new friends in Denmark or a new place, especially as an adult. The absence of genuine connections and meaningful conversations can sometimes leave us feeling a little lonely or lacking a sense of belonging.

And, while regular networking events serve their purpose, they may sometimes still leave us craving for more meaningful or intellectually stimulating interactions. Having gone to various of them myself, I have grown a little tired of repeatedly answering to the same repetitive questions a countless number of times.

What if we moved on to deeper conversations that delve into significant topics or ideas that stimulate and challenge our perspectives, or simply allow us to uncover what truly ignites that spark in your eyes, how you view the world, what we are truly passionate (or concerned) about, or simply bring out our authentic selves in a meaningful way?

But we seldom experience these conversations arising spontaneously. Or sometimes we may feel the need to hold back our authentic selves.

Authentic You Me is here to address that
It's because of all these reasons that Authentic You Me created a new kind of social gathering that challenges conventional formats and invented a new name for it along the way, too: Slow Friending. Yep, yours truly came up with it!

Hej! I am a Londoner living in Copenhagen and like you, I have experienced many of the above! Hence this project is on a social mission to bring people together and create a space that not only goes beyond the small talk; but to tackle the challenges of feeling truly connected in a place that is far from home / used to be home.

Join me for a carefully curated slow-friending afternoon that is all about embracing your authentic self, connecting on a deeper level with like-minded people, challenging your perspective and sparking curiosity through stimulating conversations – all in a welcoming, non-crowded setting.
