Writing Critique Group Chicago Meeting - Eva's Cafe on March 13

Details

Place: Chicago North Side - Eva's Cafe (please see the address above).

The cafe is close to the Sedgwick Brown Line station, a few blocks from the North and Clybourn and Clark and Division Red Lines, and near North, Division, Clark, and Halsted streets. Please check those bus routes and schedules for Sunday, if you are planning on taking the bus.

New people are welcome. If you want to come and observe or just give critiques and not post, you're welcome. However, if you're posting a file, please read below carefully.

Writers can post only up to 5,000 words (about 15 double spaced pages). If you post regularly, try and keep it under 3,500. To find out how many words are in your piece, see this link. (https://www.meetup.com/author/boards/thread/9192494)

Exception: You may post larger pieces in unusual circumstances (i.e. every 3-4 months) if you get permission, in person, from the group at the previous meeting.

Unless described as "NOT for meeting critique", all posters should show up at their meeting and give critiques (emergencies are of course the exception).

At meetings, writers share a piece of their work, and the people at the meeting share their thoughts.

Anyone willing to give a thoughtful critique is welcome.
Members participate, in discussion, on the piece. Some members give written feedback (Ex. on printed out work).

Guidelines for sharing work:

You may share your work, by posting here (https://www.meetup.com/author/files/) (highly recommended), or by bringing work to read aloud.
If you post a piece online, yet find out you will not be able to attend, please change the description of your piece to say "Critique Postponed". It is especially great if you do this at least three days in advance.

If you are posting a revision of work already critiqued at this group, is must be substantially changed.
When posting files, please indicate the date of the meeting in which you want your piece critiqued.
