What we’re about
Hello world! AV Club SF is a collective of musicians, visual artists, and programmers who combine creative and computational skills to create and perform electronic music and art in exciting ways. We organize audio-visual performances made with live-coding languages TidalCycles, Hydra, and p5.js, as well as modular and analog synthesizers, acoustic instruments, TouchDesigner, and custom frameworks. The events we throw are called “algoraves”; they exist in the space between party and tech-art gallery. Yet additionally, our code is often projected for the audience to read, offering an immersive glimpse into our creative methodology. We have previously held algoraves in the Mission District, organized live-coding workshops, and performed at Gray Area, New York City, and South by Southwest.
