Ecstatic Dance is focused on the practice of authentic, spontaneous, expressive, meditative movement. It provides an environment for people to authentically and safely express themselves. It is a space free of judgment. It is a place to feel, move and heal, so that we can get more in touch with our true selves.
Ecstatic Dance is about giving yourself permission to dance without holding back. To dance without concern about being aesthetic, graceful, disciplined, or contained as we're so often taught that dance is about.
- Non-choreographed: No steps to learn and no need to try to keep up; You decide how to move and at what tempo.
- Non-competitive: Purpose is to dance as if no one is watching, rather than to perform or compete against others. Just relax & be yourself.
- No dance experience needed, just a willingness to move and be moved.
- People of all ages, shapes, and sizes are welcome.

Join us to connect with your innermost self using a moving meditation, known as ecstatic dance, and tap into intuitive wisdom and healing.
Ecstatic dance is an ancient practice used by shaman to enter altered states of consciousness with the intent to bring healing to themselves and others. In modern times it’s become revived as a spiritual practice. Research has recently begun to study the benefits of ancient practices, such as ecstatic dance, shamanic drumming and sound healing, and validating what our ancestors have always known about their healing qualities.
This class will help you explore your unique inner rhythm while moving your body in any manner that feels good, to music that will help you lose yourself to the beat. It’s a great way to feel grounded, embody emotions, and tap into intuitive wisdom and healing. Designed for those who have tried sitting meditation in the past and struggled with it, or those who are looking to compliment their existing meditation routine.
The goal is simple: to relax, tune into whatever you’re feeling, and gently move in any way that feels comfortable to you. This is accomplished through guidance from an experienced facilitator, in a safe space where you can feel at ease with however you want to express yourself.
Class will start with breath work and a gentle stretch to help you get into a deep meditative state, followed by a guided body scan and free-form dance, and end with a closing circle.
Please bring a yoga mat, an eye covering (optional) and a journal (optional).
