Melbourne AWS User Group #125
Details
What's better than a public holiday? Your favourite meetup on the next day! We're back for another great session on 26 April, at our usual location of the NAB Events Hub on 395 Bourke Street.
As a reminder, we will start with the food and socialising at 6 pm but the actual contents of the meetup (and live stream) will begin at 6:30.
And as usual, I'd like to point out that if you are attending online only, please do not RSVP, as we use the RSVPs for catering purposes. Similarly, if you realise you can't make it after all, please change your RSVP as we don't want food to go to waste.
For the evening itself, after we've eaten and socialised, we have our usual intros and overview of the news. And after that we've got two great talks lined up. We'll start with Nathan Westwood who will have an interactive session where we (the audience) get to make an app fall over and see how that looks like using observability tools. This is followed by meetup regular Matt Merriel who will show us one way we shouldn't mind AI taking our job. And, of course, we'll finish the night with our Who's hiring segment.
Our thanks to CMD Solutions for their continued sponsorship.
See below for the full agenda. The event will be streamed on YouTube as always:

# Datadog Observability: Crash my app
* Nathan Westwood
Level 200
Collectively let's make a small microservices app fall over and watch it die through the lens of Datadog observability (metrics, traces, logs, real user monitoring).

# AI can have my Job: Automating the creation of Social Media content through Step Functions and AI
* Matt Merriel
Level 300
In the world of brand identity, Social media content is as important as ever... but blogs, YouTube videos and PodCasts are time-consuming things to create. In the spirit of "automating the repetitive" I present to you "Content Bot"... An AWS serverless application that can create Blog Posts, YouTube Videos and even podcasts from nothing more than a single API call and a text block.

We are always looking for speakers and believe everyone has an interesting talk hiding inside themselves. If you are interested in letting that talk out at a future event you can get in touch at the meetup, on the website, or reach out to @arjen or @bok on our Slack.
