Hi Architects,
Welcome to our next AWS Brisbane Well-Architected User Group Meetup!!! 🥳
At each meetup we covered off various pillars in detail, best-practices and insights from industry leaders that specialise in the Well-Architected Framework.
Please also note that AWS Security now requires a company name and company email where it is available. If you are a student, please list your institution and your student email address at that institution 👍
We'll be announcing more speakers on https://well-architected.me and previewing presentations during the coming weeks - our speakers and details this month include:
Carlos Santini, CEO, Cloud Assembly
Building an Internal App Builder: Lessons from AgentCore Runtime 🚀
The pattern is familiar: a business team needs an internal application, the engineering backlog is already full, and someone discovers a SaaS app builder that can produce something in days.
Great for speed. Potentially much less great for governance. At this meetup, we’ll show what we built as an alternative.
Using Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, we created an internal app builder that allows a business stakeholder to describe the application they need in plain language, while the resulting workload is deployed inside the organisation’s own AWS environment.
We’ll walk through:
What we built and how the end-to-end experience works
What we learned working with AgentCore Runtime
The architectural constraints that influenced our design
How identity and least privilege flow from the requester through to the deployed application
How we keep applications within existing IAM, logging, security, and data residency boundaries
Where this approach worked well — and where we hit limitations
The goal wasn’t simply to build apps faster. It was to explore whether we could make the secure and governed path fast enough that teams actually want to use it.
Alan Blockley, Solutions Architect, AWS
What's New in AWS
Alan is no stranger to AWS and AWS Meetups, supporting the AWS Brisbane Meetup for many years. Alan will cover off what's new in AWS, bringing an AWS Solutions Architectect's PoV to what it means for AWS partners and customers alike.
This month's menu will include:
