Welcome to our next AWS Brisbane Well-Architected User Group Meetup!!! 🥳

At each meetup we covered off various pillars in detail, best-practices and insights from industry leaders that specialise in the Well-Architected Framework.

And giving away drones, of course. Lots of drones.

Building the Architecture behind AWS AI Agents
AI-powered AWS architecture tools don't work by magic; they depend on deliberate architectural choices regarding data access, context building, security boundaries and model orchestration.

In this talk, we'll break down some core AI architecture patterns required to safely deploy agents that reason over AWS environments. We'll compare deployment options - from fully managed agents to customer-hosted, VPC-isolated models. We will also cover the trade-offs across performance, cost, security and features and how we model these against the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Handing AWS Keys to an AI Agent: What can go wrong?

What happens when you give an AI agent read-only access to your AWS accounts? Diagrams appear, documentation writes itself and that architecture review you've been avoiding suddenly becomes manageable.

In this talk, we'll explore practical ways to use AI agents for AWS architecture work; generating accurate diagrams from live infrastructure, producing documentation that stays current, investigating incidents and answering those "why is this configured this way?" questions that haunt every team.

We'll cover real examples from production environments, the gotchas of trusting AI with your infrastructure context and when to let the agent run versus when to keep your hands on the wheel.

Can Cost Optimisation Improve your other pillars?
In this talk, we'll go through whether Cost Optimisation can improve your security, operational excellence, reliability, etc. and more importantly, how (spoiler alert - it can but it will be an interesting exploration).
