June 28 | 6:00 – 9:00PM |Demo & Unveiling
Join AWS and Intel for unveiling of our latest version of Simple Beer Service (SBS) and a demo on how the system works. Simple Beer Service (SBS) is a cloud-connected kegerator that sends sensor data (beer flow, temperature, humidity, sound levels and proximity) to Amazon Web Services. This iteration of Simple Beer Service uses an Intel Edison to capture and publish sensor data to an Amazon IoT Device Gateway over MQTT. The sensor data is published to a topic that the Amazon IoT Rule Engine uses to invoke downstream actions, such as publishing to a Amazon Kinesis Firehose or an Amazon DynamoDB table. The data visualizations are delivered through a static web application dashboard that opens a web socket connection to the same Amazon IoT topic, providing a near real-time display of the sensor data. This dashboard is stored in Amazon S3 and delivered through Amazon’s content delivery network, Amazon CloudFront. Food and drinks will be provided.
June 29 | 10:00AM – 5:00PM | Workshop
Learn how to build your own Simple Beer Service. We will use Amazon CloudFormation and the Serverless Framework to easily deploy the backend resources in your AWS account. We will use a web-based simulator to write simulated data to your Amazon IoT Topic. After completed, participants will know how to build and deploy powerful IoT systems on AWS. Seats are highly limited for this workshop. You must register (https://www.thinkreg.com/coral/viewWebsite.do?pageId=8a94a8b447fa4f710147ff5b0a17069e) at the AWS Loft Website for this Day 2 workshop. Once registration is full, there will be a walk-in waitlist (first-come, first-served) if seats become available.
