Greetings, AWS Enthusiasts!
Have you ever wondered what Aristotle has in common with Modern Software practices? In this meetup, we will explore a fascinating and unexpected combination of subjects. How can practical philosophy relate to Serverless Event-Driven Architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and Team Topologies? What lessons can we learn from Aristotle and apply to today's tech landscape?
Join us as Niko Achilles Kokkinos, a Cloud Solutions Architect and AWS Community Builder, bridges the gap between seemingly unrelated fields, providing profound insights and thought-provoking material.
Presentation Description
The talk unfolds in a startup organization transitioning to the expansion stage. The organization offers products and services validated in the EU market. On one side, the organization desires to scale for customer retention and, on the other, to expand into a new market.
However, the organization faces both technical and non-technical challenges. The existing teams struggle with new serverless technologies and practices. Moreover, initially designed and developed by a third-party contractor, the system architecture is now in production, but the contractor is no longer available.
How can a newly hired architect enable the teams in learning good practices, and move forward with complexity? Two Greek adjectives for complexity give us insights here: περίπλοκος and πολύπλοκος.
Technologically, Amazon EventBridge is at the forefront. The event-driven architectural style is characterized by its evolvability. It provides capabilities for integrating applications and development practices.
In this talk, I share with you my insights - μορφή και κίνησις - about Serverless Event-Driven Architecture by combining practical Philosophy, Domain-Driven Design, and Team Topologies.
