AWS Sheffield: November 2023

Details

November '23 AWS Sheffield
Join us for our November meet up where we'll be kindly hosted by Airwalk (https://airwalkreply.com) @ electric works (https://www.electric-works.net).

We've got 2 fantastic speakers, a great venue, food & drink and the opportunity to meet & network into the evening.

Our first talk of the evening is from Nick McMahon, Principal Software Engineer - Home Office. Nick's talk Building the strategic cloud platform for the Home Office, takes us through how they are building an 'ex nihilo' cloud platform, taking a native first approach using AWS managed services, tooling and best practices such as Landing zone accelerator and their reference architectures. The talk will go into their experience so far and some of their future plans for further leveraging AWS to become the single strategic platform for the Home Office.

Second up we have Zulia Shavaeva, Security, Risk and Compliance (SRC) Consultant at AWS. Zulia will be giving the talk Secure your Gen AI / ML solutions with AWS. Thinking about trying out a Gen AI/ML solution but not sure how to secure them? This talk will help you with some of the fundamental AI/ML security on AWS using simple and easy to understand terms and real-life examples. In this talk we will dive into the basics of Gen AI/ML during our introduction session. Next, explore the essential AWS tools that serve as the building blocks for your AI/ML projects. Delve into the critical importance of security, especially when moving from a small project to something bigger. We'll then cover how to effectively manage who gets to access your data and tools, ensuring that both your general AI processes and specific models are safeguarded. By the end, you'll also grasp how to make sure your AI/ML models consistently perform as expected. Secure your projects, with minimal buzz words!

Our event is free and inclusive; we welcome people of all backgrounds and experience levels to join. If you require any accommodations please reach out and we will do what we can.
