Southern Hemisphere Easter/Autumn Observance Ceromony

Details

We, in Australia, live in the Southern Hemisphere, but still celebrate religious holidays tied to seasons in the Northern Hemisphere even though they don't make sense for us. The symbolism looses its meaning and becomes empty.

During this event we will be reconnecting back with the Earth and it's rotation around the sun through our senses. We will sit to appreciate feeling the coolness of the air after a very hot summer, seeing the change in the trees, and tasting the fruits in season.

In pre-modern cultures Autumn has been a time connected with planting for spring harvest and preparing for a dark, cold winter. We will use this not only as inspiration to connect with life, but to help us reflect on change. We will literally and symbolically plant a seed for our personal growth at this event. I will bring some pots and soil.

I will bring some chairs and plan to set up in the circle on the south side of Hyde Park. So Glendower may be the best place to park. I will post photos of what we look like. I recommend bringing a water bottle.

Please consider bringing some change to help cover the meetup fees. Its 50 bucks a month so 5 dollars goes a long way if you can afford it.

Thank you.
