Ride to lake and the scenic Rim

Easy ride in cooler temps to Woods Canyon lake and Rim
Meet at Rimtop trailhead
Arrive between 9:00 - 9:15 am
Roll 9:30 am
Distance: about 13.6 miles
Elevation gain: about 446 ft
Technical skill level: All levels. Beginner mtn biker should be ok, if you can ride 14 miles. A couple sections with some rocks, but if not comfortable, can walk those sections. Route is fairly flat, except does go down to lake, so there will be a little climbing on paved trail coming back up from lake.
Elevation: It's up on top of the rim, so between 7,500 - 7,600 ft
Helmet and some type of hydration mandatory.
I suggest also bring a snack to eat, spare tube for your tire, and a lightweight rain jacket just in case.
Directions: from phoenix you can take 87 to Payson, then 260 east.
As soon as you get to the top of the climb (mile marker 281 maybe?) look to the left for a turn to woods canyon lake, make the left turn, then your 1st right should be Rimtop trailhead.

I hereby waive, release and discharge the Meetup group AZ Mountain Biking (AZMB) and its officers, ride leaders,volunteers, employees, organizers, sponsors, members, and ride participants from any and all claims for personal injury, property damage,or death resulting from my participation in any AZMB event.
I acknowledge that mountain biking is a high-risk sport. I realize there are certain dangers inherent in the sport of mountain biking, and I assume these risks with the full understanding that injuries may result from my participation in any AZMB event.
I intend this release to discharge the above-named from any and all liability arising from or connected in any way with my participation in any event, even though that liability may result from the negligence or carelessness of the above named .
I certify that my bicycle is suitable for safe use in all events, that I am in good physical condition, and that I am able to complete the event. I agree to wear a bicycle helmet properly adjusted and fastened.
I have read this waiver and release and fully understand its terms and agree that it shall be binding on my heirs and assigns. I consent to emergency care at my own expense if injured or ill.
