What we’re about
This group is for anyone interested in a discussion with others local to the Houston area around any aspect of Microsoft Azure and it's rapidly-growing, surrounding (non-Microsoft) ecosystem. Non-locals are also very welcome to join!
We meet each month or so - usually the second Tuesday of each month - and talk about some aspect of Azure that might be of interest to as many people as possible. Topics range across both all Azure services and 3rd-Party solutions that are deployed upon it so there should be something for everyone.
Attendees to our events usually cover a wide range, and often include students, project managers, infrastructure-focused IT professionals, Developers, Solution, Application or Enterprise Architects, Security practitioners, "Big Data" Scientists, and business leaders. We also sometimes discuss solutions that 3rd Party (i.e. non-Microsoft) software vendors build on top of Azure to fill in feature gaps (via the Azure Marketplace).
The one thing we try NOT our events to be a 'sales pitch' of any kind: we are just about community, learning about technology and gaining experiences in using them from one-another.
Each event will usually focus on just one Azure area or Service or 3rd Party (Marketplace) solution, and typically have a guest speaker, a high-level overview followed by technical demonstration(s), and a Q&A session so we can not only share stories but everyone can learn from each other's experiences.
We do record our events and post them on our YouTube Channel.
Our Code Of Conduct, which applies to all attendees to all our events, can be found here.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

See all- Mastering Team Development: Top 5 Kubernetes Best PracticesMicrosoft Office Houston, Houston, TX
Kubernetes is an open-source Container Orchestrator and there are several Azure PaaS services that include it for apps that need it's many, powerful features, or you can deploy a distro yourself in Azure VM's.
Either way, Kubernetes is great for scaling apps but not so much for the teams building the apps that run on top of it. Running a productive shop on Kubernetes is more than just mastering YAML files. In this month's Meetup, we’ll explore the top five best practices for Azure Cloud Engineers focused on app performance, auto-scaling, and empowering the teams around you with a self-service platform for development teams.
Discover how dynamic configurations simplify deployments across environments, and proper auto-scaling practices will better guarantee smooth rollouts of your workloads every time. Learn how to eliminate downtime with effortless cluster upgrades and how to automate at scale without sacrificing control. Whether you’re managing infrastructure for a fast-growing startup or an established enterprise, these strategies will empower your developers to move fast with minimal training while ensuring your systems remain reliable and secure.
Join us for practical insights, actionable techniques, and a deep dive into modern reliability engineering approaches that make Kubernetes work for your entire team—not just your experts. If you’re looking to scale confidently and simplify your cloud, this is a must-attend session.

"I build infrastructure the same way I write software: design clean interfaces, automate the boring bits, and remember that humans, not code, carry the project over the finish line. After twenty years building systems, I’m convinced of two things: Conway’s Law is undefeated, and the more experience I gain, the larger my “unknown-unknowns” pile gets. Guided by those truths, we have grown an idea into a well-funded cloud platform by keeping the spotlight on people and product, never vanity tooling. When workflows are repeatable and teams are aligned, tech finally feels fun again, and everything gets better."
