Learn How Your Web Dev Skills Could Help Families With Disabled Children

Details
Join the meetup Thursday March 31st for a guest presentation by Rochelle Honey-Arcement.
"Having a child with a disability has its challenges, but being an immigrant with a child with a disability, those challenges can be magnified.
My research addresses immigrant parents’ perceptions of their access to services for their child. I look at what factors have led to positive experiences and what factors have led to negative experiences. Recommendations for providers and advocates are discussed.
How can we improve the situation for these families seeking information? Making improvements for these families will positively affect all parents accessing services for their children. I hope to inspire some people to develop new apps or websites that would improve the experience."
This talk could generate some great ideas for local start-ups. I hope to see you there!
CSUN Exhibit Hall Slideshow
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the CSUN International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference. I would like to take 30-60 minutes to share photos and stories with you on some of the 200 assistive technology vendors that were there on display. Lot's of exciting new tools are out there to help people more easily use mobile devices, check their medicine prescriptions, find their way around a new campus, and much more. Get new ideas and information on how to obtain these great tools for yourself or business.
