A community-led, FREE group centered around building your village & befriending someone new!
Expecting a little one? Want to meet others? Come chat and make new friends in a relaxed cafe atmosphere. Think 1:1/small groups, no agenda, no commitment, and a built-in green light to approach a stranger without giving someone “the ick” 🤭
What can you expect?
- Arrive and put on a name tag - that’s the key sign that tells others you want to chat
- Approach anyone else wearing a name tag

A huge thank you to Bean Bag Play Cafe for allowing us to use their beautiful space to connect and share. The best way to support a local small business is by being a patron, so we encourage everyone to purchase and enjoy a delicious drink, snack and/or sweet treat as you make a new friend!
The point of this meet up is to connect with other expecting parents, share your experiences, and grow your village.
THE RULES
- Be kind, be kind, be kind! Parenthood is different for everyone. You are bound to disagree regarding certain topics. Focus on what you share in common, or simply move on to the next conversation! Harassment of any kind goes against everything this group stands for
- Please no unsolicited advice. Key word here is unsolicited, expecting parents get enough of that already, especially 1st timers. If someone is asking for your advice, then by all means please share openly. Otherwise, listen actively and share your own experience, without telling the other person what they should do
- Please refrain from advertising / promoting your business unless you are specifically asked by the person you are speaking to. We want everyone to feel welcome and not pressured in any way
- Please refrain from giving medical and safety advice. We cannot be held responsible for any advice given of any type, and it is especially important to leave certain topics (i.e. health and safety) to the professionals

What is the cost?
The event itself is completely free (no cost to RSVP/attend). If interested, the venue offers a variety of food and drink options available for purchase (including vegetarian and gluten-free), please see their menu for more details. There is also a kid's play space available for booking, see next question for more details
I have a little on the outside already. Can I join / can I bring them along?
Of course! Bean Bag Play Cafe has a wonderful play space for children aged 0-6. If your little wants to use the play space while you're there, just book a spot (price = $15) in advance on their website.The play space is by reservation only.
Can my partner/support person come?
Anyone expecting a little is welcome here. Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, you name it! If you love a little-on-the-inside, you belong here ❤️
Can I come if I am / we are trying/thinking of trying for a baby?
Yes! Everyone in their journey to parenthood is welcome, wherever you lie in that journey is the right spot to join us!
Can I come to just one meeting?
Yes! Come to as many or as few as you'd like
Can I bring outside food/drinks?
Due to allergy concerns, no outside food or drink is allowed on the premises
Is there free parking?
There's free parking in the side streets off Wellington. There is also paid parking all along Wellington
