Picnic in Denver City Park (BYOP)

Details

Let's meet and picnic while the parking is plentiful and before the City Park Jazz crowds begin. Then stay for the music if you want! Good way to meet other Baby Boomers, enjoy a picnic in the park and play some lawn games. I'll bring my cool croquet set!

Denver City Park...Denver's premier regional park contains two lakes, historical monuments and statuary. Also home to the Denver Zoo; the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and IMAX; City Park Jazz, tennis courts; horseshoes; baseball, football and soccer fields.

Meet the group on the lawn near the Ferrel Lake boat rentals. We'll find a shady spot to have a BBQ and picnic. Find the Pavilion and Ferrell Lake and you can't miss us under the trees on the lawn in the shade!

Closest parking is on 17th Street (near Steele Street) and walk across the lawn towards the Pavilion (West towards the mountains). Or there is a parking lot on the North side of the Pavilion across from Duck Lake or East Side near the Museum of Nature and Science (further walk).

Bring your own chair, blanket, camp table, portable grill, and picnic. Bring your bike if you want to ride the loop around the lake or you can walk. You can also rent a kayak, bike or Swan Boat at Ferrell Lake. https://wheelfunrentals.com/co/denver/city-park-colorado/contact/#hours

Bring lawn games if you want to teach us how to play. Or let's just relax, eat and visit!

See you there!
