City Park Jazz is back for summer 2026!

August 2 - The Delta Sonics - A blues-driven set with classic influences.

This year’s series carries a deeper meaning for the Denver community.
Just weeks before the season kickoff, the historic City Park bandstand, originally built in 1929, was destroyed in an early morning fire. The structure, which has hosted the concert series for decades, was deemed a total loss due to significant damage.
Despite this setback, organizers have confirmed that all 10 weeks of City Park Jazz will continue as planned as part of the event’s 40th anniversary season. Efforts are already underway to secure a mobile stage and necessary equipment to keep the tradition going.

The setting may look a little different this year, but the music and the experience remain.

A blues-driven set with classic influences.
August 9 - Jakarta
A long-standing favorite known for its blend of jazz, funk, and R&B.

We'll join other MUs and meet in a shaded area near the swan-boat rental. Walk the sidewalk closest to the lake just past the boat rental (East towards the museum) and look for us under the shade trees. We'll have a good view of the Ferril Lake Fountain and look directly at the temporary stage. The setting is shaded and away from the packed crowds in front of the old Pavilion. Acoustics are louder than they used to be but we're still far away enough to have a conversation! I'll have a Meetup sign.

Bring something to sit on, your own picnic and drink or enjoy the food trucks.

Parking - Must arrive early to find parking! I've had luck along E 17th where you'll be closest to where the groups will be sitting, but must arrive by 4:30pm. Also easy to enter from the DMNS parking or E 23rd by the Zoo although it's a longer walk!.

Directions to the Group from the Swan Boat Rental. Pass the boat rental and look for us along the sidewalk under the shade trees. If you're coming from the other direction look to your left before you get to the swan boat rentals and you should easily find us. Look for the Meetup sign!
