About us

Bad Christians Club exists to help people follow Jesus without the performance, pressure, manipulation, fake holiness, and religious weirdness that made faith feel exhausting.

We are a casual, funny, Jesus-centered community for people who still love God, still want to grow, and still believe love is the whole point.

We’re not bad Christians. We’re just bad at pretending.

This group is for people who have not “arrived.” If you have arrived, congratulations. This probably is not your group. Please enjoy your perfect theology, flawless decision-making, and emotional stability. Must be nice.

The rest of us are still growing.

Bad Christians Club is for people with real stories, real questions, a sense of humor, and a desire to follow Jesus without turning faith into a performance review from heaven.

Some of us have complicated stories.
Some of us have painful seasons.
Some of us have church hurt.
Some of us have regrets.
Some of us have made decisions we wish came with a refund policy.

But we have not given up on Jesus.

We are here because we still believe in grace.
We still believe healing is possible.
We still believe God is love.
We still believe our past does not get the final word.
And we believe community should help people grow without fear, shame, performance, or condemnation.

A huge part of our mission is unchurching ourselves.

Not walking away from Jesus.

But untangling Him from the guilt, fear, pressure, traditions, performance, and man-made rules many of us were taught to treat like gospel.

We are here to question the things we inherited.

The traditions.
The church habits.
The cultural rules.
The “that’s just how we do it” theology.
The stuff people called biblical because someone on stage, in a nice outfit, with a confident voice and a wireless mic said so.

Bad Christians Club is about separating Jesus from the extra religious baggage people attached to Him.

The guilt.
The fear.
The control.
The manipulation.
The fake holiness.
The selective grace.
The prosperity sales pitch.
The spiritual theater.
The fog machine faith.
The “don’t ask questions because that might be Jezebel” energy.

And yes, we are going to laugh about some of it.

A lot, actually.

Because somewhere along the way, Christian culture got weird. The stuff that made people feel like God only moved when the lights were dim, the bridge repeated 47 times, the offering message sounded like a hostage negotiation for blessings, and someone whispered, “I feel a shift.”

Bad Christians Club is not here to bash the church.

The goal for the meetups are casual, fun, real, and conversation-driven. Expect laughter, honest conversation, ridiculous-but-true observations about faith and church culture, thoughtful reflection, and practical conversations about what it looks like to follow Jesus as an actual human being.

This is not a sermon.
This is not group therapy.
This is not a church-bashing session.
This is not a theological cage fight.
This is not a place to attack people, or name names, as much as I would love to hear the TEA!

It is a space for honest faith, real community, humor, grace, truth, growth, accountability, and a good ol' fashioned holy side-eye.

No fake holiness required.
No prosperity sales pitch required.
No pretending required.
