First off, I want to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up for Troll 2. I did not expect the turnout to be as great as it was! For the few people who said this was their first experience with Troll 2, I hope it was unforgettable! As announced, next month's meeting in June will be shifting to the opposite end of the Bad Movie spectrum, to the competently made but more weird and utterly bizarre with... SPICE WORLD! The 1997 Spice Girls' film that absolutely baffled critics and took the world by storm! Its a movie that has to be seen to be believed!
Be sure to grab a drink, the event is free and supporting the bar ensures we can keep it that way in the future! Wild East Brewing has tons of great craft beers, but also offers wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options like Soda and NA Beers, so grab a drink and enjoy the movie!
Summary: The Spice Girls, consisting of Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Mel B (Scary Spice), and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), have become superstars and a global phenomenon. As they prepare for what may be their most prestigious concert to date at London's Royal Albert Hall, everyone in the world wants their two pounds of flesh from the girls at their expense. Their manager Clifford (Richard E. Grant), and his behind-the-scenes boss "The Chief" (Roger Moore), want to control all aspects of the girls' lives with the sole goal of getting them to the concert in the best shape possible. A documentary film crew (Alan Cumming) wants 24/7 access amid the girls' busy schedule. A Hollywood pitch team (George Wendt and Mark McKinney) wants them to star in a movie, they pitch one outlandish idea after another. The London tabloids want to print whatever salacious story they can get their hands on, even if it ruins the girls' careers. And even some out-of-this-world visitors want what all their adoring fans want. Through it all, the girls, who want to have some fun along the way, evaluate their lives and wonder if they've lost sight of what is really important in life, like being with their pregnant best friend Nicola, which might be incompatible with being pop superstars.
The screening room will open at 8:00pm, seating is first come first served. I'll have a clipshow playing while people file in and get seated.
