Bad Movie Night Brooklyn is back, and we're taking over Freddy's Bar and Backroom for a back-to-school screening that dares to ask the question: "What if the roster of Street Fighter 2 invaded your high school?" Get ready to see something wacky and wild, its Wong Jing's Future Cops! A mindblowing mix of over the top videogame action, cartoonish slapstick comedy, and copyright infringement that can only come out of Hong Kong cinema! Director Wong Jing's follow-up to City Hunter (ANOTHER movie that notoriously featured Street Fighter 2 for comedic effect), Future Cops is an absolute blast of a hidden gem that needs to be seen to be believed!
(Note: Movie will be presented in Cantonese, with English Subtitles)Plot: In the far off future of 2043, a super powered criminal mastermind named The General (who bears a striking resemblance to M. Bison) has finally been brought to justice and sentenced for execution by Judge Yu Tit-Hung. But The General has one last trick up his sleeve. He's sent his familiar looking henchmen back in time to 1993 to find the judge as a high school student, and assassinate him before he becomes a public figure. But hot on their trail are The Future Cops, 4 super strong street fighters with uncanny abilities (who just also happen to closely resemble Ryu, Guile, Dhalsim, and Vega). With the only clue to Yu Tit-Hung's whereabouts being his high school, The Future Cops team up with local loser Tai-Hung and go undercover as high school students and teachers, getting themselves involved in the hilarious dramas of Chinese school life! Can Tai-Hung turn his life around? Will the Future Cops find Yu Tit-Hung in time? Will Guile be able to ask a girl out on a date?? And whats Son Goku doing here?
