Bad Movie Night Brooklyn is back at Wild East Brewing, and we’re moving into the new year, with a glimpse into the far off future of… 1994? Yes, It’s the 1980’s disco musical, The Apple! A bizarre mix of Rocky Horror Picture Show, the Bible, and A Star is Born, blended together with a level of camp that has to be seen to be believed.
Plot:
The Year is 1994. It is the future. Music is power, and one corporation controls it all: the BIM Corporation. Lead by the devilish Mr. Boogalow, BIM rules the world through its chokehold on culture, dictating what’s hot in music, fashion, and even exercise. No one has ever questioned them, but when starry eyed musical lovers Alphie and Bibi sign their music away to get a taste of BIM’s power, they realize the darkness behind all of BIM’s glitz and glam. Can Bibi resist the temptations of sex, drugs, and rock n roll? Can Alphie bring his love back from the darkness of success? Why is there a Vampire in this movie? We’ll find out together!

Rev up those engines, Bad Movie Night Brooklyn is back at The Twisted Spine, who's graciously volunteered their space, as we'll be watching Stephen King's first (and only!) directorial effort, Maximum Overdrive! Known for being one of King's weirder stories (with King even later admitting that he was on a coke-binge through the entire production), Maximum Overdrive brought King's legendary name into the hallowed halls of bad moviemaking.
Plot: For 8 days in 1986, the earth passed through the tail of a mysterious Rhea-M rogue comet. During that time, all machines on Earth suddenly come to life and terrorize their human creators. In a remote desert truck stop, a small group of people (led by Emilio Estevez), held hostage by homicidal 18-wheel semi-trailers, set out to stop the machines before the machines stop them.
The Twisted Spine is more than just a bookstore — it's a portal into the macabre, a haven for horror enthusiasts, and a tribute to the chilling art of storytelling. As NYC’s first bookstore dedicated exclusively to horror and dark literature, they pride themselves on curating a diverse selection of books that span the spectrum of fear and fascination. They not only serve as a bookstore, but also feature a full espresso cafe with Devoción coffee, and a beer and wine bar.3 attendees
