The Bad Club is a San Diego community for adventurous people ready to expand their comfort zones and give questionable ideas a chance.
We’ll try interesting activities, explore unusual places, and get together regularly to meet questionable people. Worried you’ll look ridiculous? You’ll have company. Possibly witnesses.
First-timers, seasoned pros, inventors, independent thinkers, and anyone who’s started a business or pursued an idea without having it all figured out: you’re welcome here.
Enjoy something you love or bring a beginner’s mind to something unfamiliar. No pressure to teach or impress. We cheer each other on, laugh at our attempts, and discover what we’re capable of.
Down the road, we might make ridiculous short movies or sculptures that confuse future archaeologists. First, let’s see who can be trusted with a glue gun.
Come solo or bring a friend. Somewhere here is someone thinking, “I’ll try it if you will.”

Bad Golfers & Good Company ⛳
Del Mar Golf Center, 15555 Jimmy Durante Blvd, San Diego, CA, USOne of the things I want The Bad Club to be about is beginner’s mind: trying things we don’t know how to do, being willing to be bad at them for a while, and finally trying some of those things we’ve always wanted to do but never quite got around to.
So… we’re going golfing.We’re heading to the Toptracer range at Del Mar Golf Center for a casual evening of hitting golf balls, hanging out, learning from each other, and hopefully becoming slightly less bad at golf.
Never hit a golf ball before? Great.
Mediocre golfer? You’ll be among freinds.
Really good golfer? Also great. Come show the rest of us how it’s supposed to be done.
I’ll put myself firmly in the mediocre but dangerously optimistic category. I know enough to help someone who’s completely new get started, but consistency remains more of an aspiration than a description of my golf game.
We’ll have Toptracer bays where we can hit real balls, see where they go, try some games and challenges, trade tips, have a drink, and laugh at the occasional spectacularly bad shot.
This isn’t a lesson and it isn’t a serious golf outing. It’s a chance to try something new, get a little better at something you already do, meet some people, and embrace being a beginner again.
Cost: $7 per person
That covers the Toptracer bays and unlimited golf balls. Food and drinks are separate.Don’t have golf clubs? No problem. Basic loaner clubs are available at the golf center for $5 per club, so you don’t need to own anything to come give golf a try.
And if we’re having a good time and people are up for keeping the night going, we may head to a nearby brew pub afterward for food and drinks.
