OPL Movies: A Celebration!!! (a.k.a. Letter-Writing Day)

Let's celebrate the Main Branch's movie programmes!!!

We are thrilled to announce that we are now working closely with staff at the Main Branch on a partnership agreement for the next season(s) of A (Bad) Night at the Movies, with the intention of transferring over to Ādisōke in 2026!!!

On Saturday, August 9th @ 1pm, you're invited to join us to show your appreciation for the Ottawa Public Library's Main Branch movie programmes and to celebrate our long-standing and continued partnership.

We'll get together to write letters that will be shared with the OPL, and staff from the Main Branch will join us to hear your stories first-hand.

What to Expect:

• A fun, creative space to write letters or notes sharing your experiences and appreciation for the movie nights.
• Pencils, paper, and other arts and crafts supplies will be available to inspire you, but you're welcome to bring your own supplies.
• Music, snacks, and beverages for everyone's enjoyment. (Please feel free to pitch in with more goodies! :)
• PLUS a chance to win a snazzy OBMN t-shirt!!!

It will be the perfect time to spotlight the positive impact that the OPL's movie programmes have had on you and yours: your stories and feedback will be shared with the OPL's staff, trustees, and other stakeholders. Together, we can illustrate how important these programmes are and the value that they bring to our community.

So bring your peeps on August 9th and let’s show our appreciation and excitement for the future of movie nights at the OPL.

Nota bene: Though the event will last from 1 to 4pm, please feel free to drop in anytime. Whether you stay for a while or just pop by to write a quick note, we’d love to see you there! :)
