Hello there, thank you for your interest in this group. We are AJ and Denise, in our early 60s. We moved here from New York 5 years ago. We live on the east side of Bakersfield, near College Avenue and Fairfax Road. I am 63, originally from Pakistan, but have lived most of my life in the US. Denise is a Long Island, New York, girl. We have been together over 18 years now. We used to have a Meetup.com travel group back in New York. So, we love inviting friends over for fun.
We are starting this new group for with 2 goals in mind.
We’re looking to make new friends who may not be in our exact age group but are comfortable socializing across different generations. While this is not a political group, and we will not be discussing any politics, we want to put it out there that we welcome Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and any other political affiliation. We want to get together, without having to worry about your political views, just like the old days. It is important that everyone in our group respects diverse views without harboring negative feelings towards others. If you are democrat and you can't stand republicans, this is not a group for you. If you are republican and can't stand democrats, this not a group for you. If you are an independent, I'm sure you get the message.
This is a social group where we come together to play games, enjoy snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, and have fun without the cost of restaurants or other expensive venues. Your race, religion, political affiliation, or background doesn't matter to us—we’re simply looking for kind, happy, and open-minded people who want to join in the fun two or three times a month.
Denise and I manage a YouTube quiz channel, which is new but already features over 250 faceless videos. Now, we’re planning to add more engaging content with real people. Our goal is to eventually monetize the channel as a source of income. To help with this, we’d like to invite members of our meetup group to our home once a week to play quiz games, which we’ll record and post on YouTube. If you’re okay with visiting us a couple of times a month, or more, for a few hours in the evening, playing some fun quiz games, enjoying refreshments, and being part of our YouTube videos, we’d love to have you join us. Your participation would mean a lot to us as we grow our channel.
