A language-centric approach to building operating system to app

Details

Hello, Hacker Ladies and Gentlemen!

On May 13th, we'll host a talk by Daniel Kluss, who has carefully studied the work of Alan Kay's Viewpoints Research Institute and their STEPS program. He will tell us about their language-centric approach to building everything from an operating system to applications in a tiny amount of code, as well as his own efforts to reproduce this work in other programming languages.

We will meet at Hacker Dojo in Mountain View (855 Maude Ave.).

Please join us in person if you can. After the talks, we'll mingle and have snacks. Good things come from meeting in person.

If you'd like to read about the projects in advance, take a look:

The talk will be hosted on Google Meet as well.
