About Riley:
Riley is a Partner at Valia Ventures. He divides his focus between supporting the company’s existing portfolio and searching for the next entrepreneur to back – something that takes a real eye for detail and intuition for good ideas.

Before joining Valia, Riley was an Associate at Arctaris Capital Partners and the founder of Crash Alert. Over the past six years, Riley has mentored hundreds of start-up founders as a volunteer for the MIT Enterprise Forum, SCORE and MassChallenge, and has been actively involved as a board member and mentor for several non-profits. After buying and building a small business in the lawn and garden industry, Riley attended Bentley University, and spent his time starting companies and becoming ingrained in the Boston startup ecosystem.

Outside of his work at Valia, Riley enjoys traveling the world (he’s on 39 countries and counting) and trying to keep up with an expanding reading list. His competitive side pushed him to become a college soccer player, a professional motorcycle racer, and a sponsored snowboarder, but Riley’s now learning to embrace a slower pace in the interest of balance. Nowadays, you’ll likely find him on weekends exploring northern California’s coasts and mountains, and planning his next trip.
