Nelson is an award-winning improviser and a key figure in the Bangkok improv scene. He is involved in performing and organizing events that bring together international and local talent. Nelson is notably associated with the Bangkok International Improv Festival.

His passion for improv was sparked following a television appearance on NBC, setting him on a path of global performance and teaching. Nelson has also hosted for acclaimed comedian Pete Lee and is the founder of the Bangkok International Improv Festival.
