Deep within the forests of Saraburi lies Wat Phothisat, a temple surrounded by numerous mountain caves. Among them, one cave stands out for its ancient Dvaravati cave carving of Buddha teaching the Bodhisattvas, which has earned recognition as a national historical monument and also the name Wat Phothisat.
For this car pooling trip to Saraburi/Khao Yai (2 hours drive from Bangkok), our vehicle is already half filled with friends and looking for more positive vibes friends. First we go exploring a cave temple, then dipping our feet in a natural spring pool in a forest (literally Shinrin-yoku or forest bathing), then we go to a farmers' market for local (mostly organic) produce, then have a meal at a local riverside restaurant, followed by visits to picturesque farms (mango/flower farms) and cafes. Detox is our overall theme ;)
Schedule:
7am: We will depart in an air-conditioned luxury van or sedan car from pickup point near Asok, Ploenchit or Nana BTS (depending on number of persons).
9am: Arrive at cave temple and also explore the beautiful white temple nestled in the forests with stalactite caves.
10.30am: Leave for natural spring pool
11.30am: Reach natural spring pool where you can either swim or kayak in clean spring waters. (If you want to swim, please bring swimming attire, change of clothes, and big smile – we gonna have fun. For those who like, we can also arrange underwater photography/videography for you!)
12.30-12.45pm: Leave for a local riverside restaurant, which serves really good Thai & fusion food in a peaceful setting.
1pm: Lunch
1.45pm: We will stop by for coffee at nearby cafes. There is plenty to choose from, with beautiful views of Khao Yai’s scenery. We will choose 2 or 3 among the following: flowers farm, mango farm, a capybara 'onsen' (admission fee applies) etc.
At around 4pm or later, we will head back to Bangkok in the afternoon and expect to reach by 6.30pm or later.
(The itinerary or sequence may be subject to change depending on weather and traffic conditions.)
