In Baraboo, your creative space is ours to nurture together.

I'm launching something new in Baraboo—a space for fiction writers to gather, share, and grow. This first meeting is limited to ten writers who believe in the power of story and the strength of community. We'll review the stories submitted for this inaugural meeting - a first step in building Baraboo's fiction-focused writing community. These stories will serve as springboards for discussion, insight, and creative momentum as we shape this space together.

As Halloween approaches, we’re leaning into fiction that chills, unsettles, or surprises. Let this line guide your storytelling:

✅ RSVP Required. Space is limited to 10 participants. Please RSVP through Meetup to reserve your spot and let me know if you plan to submit a story.

Story Submission Deadline: If you'd like your story to be considered for review at our first meeting, please submit it by Monday, October 6th, at midnight to **baraboowritersblast@gmail.com**. I will set up a shared Google Drive folder so the group can view the submitted stories before our meeting.

Stories should aim for around 2,500 words—a few under or over is fine, especially when artistic freedom calls for it. Please include your name and story title in the document.
